The River Teifi through Newcastle Emlyn

A view that I had no idea was their until I walked up to the old castle ruins at the top of the hill through the town, just goes to show you should really do your homework!

Newcastle Emlyn is a town straddling the counties of Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire in west Wales and lying on the River Teifi. Adpar is the part of the town that lies on the Ceredigion side of the River Teifi.

Cenarth Falls

With these two images I concentrated on the actual river only not the buildings around, the water flows through abruptly and un-apologetically whilst the formation of the rocks just sits there showing its strength.

Cenarth Mill & Falls

All three images here are of the same spot but different angles highlighting the falls and 17th Century Flour Mill, as with all the photographs on this blog the images are in HDR format.

This collection of images each comprises of 5 separate photos each layer one on top of another...

...this means there are 15 images on this page creating just three images.

Cenarth 17th Century Flour Mill

Sitting comfortably and proudly next to the River Teife in a little place named Cenarth is a little 17th century flour mill, with undershot timbers and iron waterwheel driving two pairs of millstones, one for barley, the other for oats. Last worked commercially in 1964. The original mill site dates from 1100.

This shot was taken in HDR using 5 images to capture the best lighting on what was a overcast day. I opted for the black & white image here as it was much more striking!

The Welsh Spring Garden Flowers @ Penyrallt Fach

Normally only one image per page appears on this blog of mine but due to my indecisiveness today on which photo I prefer from the selection I have chosen to upload several of them.
These were all taken at Penyrallt Home Farm where we stayed in a fabulous little cottage.

A scene from the Bromyard Downs Woodlands, there is a lot going on in this image but that give it more to look at I think.
